Hydropower tunnel rescue operations remain active

Update from 2 September: Rescue and access work remains active at several hydropower sites in Rasuwa and Nuwakot. At Rasuwagadhi, rescuers reached about 150 metres into a tunnel, but large rocks blocked further advance. At Langtang, a 25-person joint team reached about 150 metres and continued work. Crews were also active at Chilime and Upper Trishuli sites. The incident remains unresolved.

Tunnel access is limited by rocks, water, debris and damaged roads. Only trained rescue teams should enter.
