Safer transitional shelter and resilient reconstruction needed
Flood-affected communities requiring safer transitional shelter and reconstruction
OnlineKhabar reports on 6 September that a 13-member Survey Department-led committee has begun coordinating with local authorities and collecting relocation data in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading. Land identification and risk assessment are next steps, not completed resettlement. Safe transitional shelter, cold-weather supplies and reconstruction remain priorities. The earlier 5 September assessment counted about 7,570 affected houses and 32,933 people, not homes all destroyed; older estimates used different definitions.
